Hi, i am interested in getting another tattoo in HK but am worried about the hygiene side of things as i have heard it is not the same as in the UK, i heard that one man actually just put a lighter up to a needle and said look im sterilising it! can you put my mind at rest about your shop?

Sure, dragon lover. You are right, things here are very different to the UK, USA and all the other countries with strict hygiene regulation for tattooing and piercing. In fact, there are no laws or legislations regarding this issue at all. HK's one of the few places where u dont need any experience in the field, or a licence (we have a business license, but a lot of studios dont even have that).
Nobody from health and safety come to check up on all the studios here...ever. In fact, we had a leak in our ceiling a few months back and had health and safety come round to check it was o.k for us to work, and they really didn't understand why we'd even bothered contacting them!
What u need to look out for in a tattoo studio/piercing studio, is an ultrasonic cleaner, and autoclave, new needles, disposable goods that are actually being thrown away, not re-used, and of course, gloves. You don't want to find yourself getting tattooed in a smoke filled room by some guy who isn't even wearing gloves and using contaminated needles!
The list really goes on...but thats the jist of it. Any studio should be willing to show u their steralisation equiptment at the drop of a hat. New needles can be produced from single sealed packets, and at the end of the day, if it doesnt look clean, it probably isn't.

Hello, good afternooon,

I am a guy from Krefeld in Germany, I am going to be in HK later this year, round about November or December...

I want to have a new tattoo to remember the trip to Asia!
I will be in HK for one week, but I have to travel as well to China to visit some supplier there...

My question/the situation: As I will have only ONE DAY in HK for shopping and personal stuff ( a saturday ), I don't have so much time to come to you, make the drawing, stay at your shop for hours...is it possible that you draw the requested pic in advance, we arrange an appointment and then I will contact you shortly ( a few days or hours before ) to come to you!? I see, your shop is opened till 10:00 in the evening ...

Dum di Dum... Good question!?
Of course i will inform you about exact dates, my requested tattoo and so on ...

we normally do not do custom work without a deposit for the drawing (as it takes time and effort i could be putting into other pieces for people on my waiting list), but as u have no time here really, i might be able to get something ready for when u arrive. pls send me any pics of refrence, let me know how big and where on your body the tattoo is going and any other info u can.
u will have to make an appointment, so i can write u in the books, as we normally get fully booked on weekends so letting me know a few hours before is no use. have a think about whether or not u can confirm a time and let me know. thanks.

Hi,

Sorry for my late reply about this topic...

I can fully understand your position about the custom made drawings,I am also used to that I have to pay something in advance...
Hmm, I am just thinking about it how to settle this problem ...
If you can give me your swift code from the bank, I think it would work...

Anyway, December is coming in big steps and in the meantime my schedule changed a bit..
I will stay for a few days at the Hotel "Shangri La" ( I hope the name is correct ), I don't know if it is far away from your studio, but this will be my next task to check it this point...
I dont think it is far away ...

About the tattoo, I have some imaginations about it and it is no problem to submit the pics in advance ...I want to haave it on my leg beside some others which are placed there...

So, now I have to check the distance ....will come back to you later guyz....
